Research institute for Education

The Mejiro Gakuen Research Institute for Women's Education, which was established in 1967, was the predecessor to the Research Institute for Education, to which the name was changed in 2006. Its research has always related to women's education. However, in recent years, the focus has been on contemporary issues in education, regardless of gender, and empirical and practical research has been conducted that contributes solutions to these issues, particularly within the realm of higher education. In 2015, the structure was reorganized into the Research Department, Faculty Development (FD) Department and Institutional Research (IR) Department, allowing research to be further developed as researchers collaborate within this new framework. Major activities include project research, publishing institute periodicals and journals, conducting lectures open to the public, collecting education-related bibliographic documents and materials, and pursuing education-related Institutional Research.
