Research institute for Higher Education

This institute, which originally focused on women's education, was established in 1967 as the Mejiro Gakuen Research Institute for Women's Education, which then changed its name to the Research Institute for Education in 2006. Recently, the institute has focused on contemporary issues, regardless of gender, and has engaged in empirical and practical research that offers solutions to various problems, especially within higher education. In 2020, the institute became the Research Institute of Education, with the aim of expanding the functions of higher education. Reorganized into two departments (a Research Department, Faculty Development (FD) Department and an Institutional Research (IR) Department) , the institute can now more flexibly wrestle with the increasingly complex issues that surround higher education in order to further advance research in the field.
