Mejiro Gakuen got its start in 1923 as Kenshin Gakuen on an elevated location in Shinjuku. Supported by the principles of "Shu," "Shi" and "Shin" set as the spirit of the institution by the founder, Professor Juen Sato, the school has developed into a comprehensive educational institution with a junior high school, senior high school, junior college, university, and graduate school, as well as a number of affiliate institutions. Even while maintaining the excellent traditions accumulated over 97 years of history, the school is constantly reading the latest trends to ensure continued growth in concert with a rapidly changing modern society. Never an institution to stand still, Mejiro Gakuen is even now forging ahead to carve out a new history.
